Voila! Surprise!

In a previous post on the Fourth of July I captured

Daughter #1's pending celebration.  She made a beautiful

cake that had a sweet surprise as she cut into it...

an American flag!  Inside the cake!  How cool is that?

I originally thought it was created by using one of 

those checkerboard baking pans - but it isn't.
